Workshop Description

The focus of the workshop will be field-scale research and operational experience.

Planned sessions include Pit Lakes, Performance of Waste Rock Dumps, Extreme Self-Heating and Assessment and Mitigation Planning

This year’s workshop will be completely virtual. Recognizing the challenge of a virtual environment and the pressures of the workday, we have chosen to split the workshop into three half-day sessions. While we will greatly miss the opportunity to meet in person, this year’s format offers us the ability to broaden our reach through an increased number of registration spots and to facilitate attendees from around the world. As such, we ask that you encourage your peers and colleagues, who may not otherwise attend BC MEND, to register for the workshop.

Individuals viewing the presentations are asked to register separately.

Please check here for updates and to view previous presentations. For further information please contact Bill Price at

Register for the workshop here, and the zoom link will be sent a week prior to the first day.
