Course description

The Britannia mine operated from 1902 to 1974 as a copper/zinc mine and consists of an extensive array of mine workings located across two watersheds, Britannia Creek and Furry Creek. In 2001, the Province took over responsibility for the remediation of the mine, with the ultimate goal of bringing closure to the mine. The presentation will focus on the challenges and novel approaches that were applied in the risk assessment and remediation of the Furry Creek area of the Britannia Mine
